It's wonderful experiencing the days getting longer and the warmer weather is so welcome. It's lovely to walk outside during the day and hear all the birds singing, there are so many around and there are lots of little babies. These are just a couple of photos I took during the cold winter, I hope to share a few more over the next few days.  From the kitchen window, this Quellea was waiting for it's chance at the bird feeder. The bougainvillea I planted has started to colour and by the end of summer it should finally cover that hideous brick wall I can't stand looking at. I will do a happy dance when that happens!!!   Semi-annual Senior Exams Posted by: Smudge's Mom - 08-24-2020, 02:37 PM - Forum: General Chat - Replies (3) Pooka and Paddy are doing great.  Paddy's seasonal allergies are acting up a bit, but the new 'script and a change in the weather in the next month or so should make him a lot more comfortable. Dr. Brown said Pooka is holding her weight well and Paddy's poundage is acceptable for a purebred ChunkaLunka .  Pooka is developing cataracts which make her near vision a bit blurry, but her nose is very capable of getting her to the treats. And I guarantee you that she sees a lot better than I do. She is still able to get up and down the steps to the basement (even though it is a bit scary to to watch those back legs slip/slide every which way).  I am not sure why she loves to go to the basement because, as we all know, it is NOT to use the litter boxes.  If any of you have cats and/or dogs with joint issues, please speak with your vets about injectable Adequan.  It has made such a difference in her mobility and comfort level. Paddy's fur is a bit dry and coarse and whether it is age related (he is twelve and a half) or allergy induced we are not sure, but he is getting a salmon oil (omega 3/omega 6) supplement which should help make him soft and shiny again. Pooka's coat is still lovely...fluffy, soft.  She gets professionally groomed once a month and truly seems to enjoy her spa day.  That's about it for now.  Hope everyone is doing well and surviving these trying times.   Best Medicine Takers, Evah!!!!! Posted by: Smudge's Mom - 08-06-2020, 04:51 PM - Forum: General Chat - Replies (4) I have never seen cats who are so agreeable about taking medicine.  Paddy is totally compliant.  Whatever you stick in his mouth, be it pills from a shooter or horrible drops from a syringe, his attitude is, "okay, Mom, if you say this is good for me, I will take it.  But do you think I could have just one little "yummer-yummer" when we are done?   Pooka will take anything that you put in her mouth.  She thinks everything is food...might not be her favorite food but it is better than nothing.  Sort of like me with lima beans....don't like them very much, but I'll eat them because they are there.   2021 Ragdoll Forum Calendar entries Posted by: Codysmom - 08-03-2020, 03:38 PM - Forum: Ragdoll Cat Gallery - Replies (7) I've just realised it's August! With this year being so topsy turvy with Covid and the lockdowns I think I lost track of time. Could everyone who's interested in submitting pics for the 2021 calendar let me know here in this thread so I can plan a bit. If you haven't managed to get any recent pics for whatever reason, you could submit a few of your favourites over the years (even kitten pics would be lovely). I haven't completely decided on a theme yet, but when I start receiving photos and working on the pages it usually helps me decide. Unless anyone has come up with a brilliant idea. as usual please send your original full size UNEDITED (JPEG) photos to me on my katya.ragdoll26@gmail.com account. Once again, please try to send pics which are clear, sharp and complete (no chopped off ears  ) For those of you who are really struggling, I am able to correct lighting and some mistakes through Photoshop, however keep in mind the better your pics the better the final outcome of your cat's page will be.
