Hello, my name is Michelle. I live in Virginia in the United States. Unfortunately I do not have a ragdoll yet, I just heard of them for the first time while searching for information on lapcats. After reading about them I am in love! I hope to adopt one next summer so I am here to learn everything I can.

Hi everyone, it's been a long time! I fell out of the habit of checking the old forum after I finished grad school, but I've thought of you all often. I'm now living in Washington DC, and Winston and Oliver are now almost 11 years old (in 2 months) and are asleep next to me on the couch while I write this. Both are doing well. Winston's kidney disease has been kept stabilized at an early stage for the last 8 years... I was worried this past winter because he was losing weight but his bloodwork came back stable and then he had a dental and had 5 teeth extracted. He seems to be feeling much better and now and is slowly gaining a little weight back, and his personality is back full-force. Oliver has gained the weight that Winston lost, but now that Winston is running around more it seems like Oliver is more active as well. Both are as sweet as ever.
Is there a way to insert a photo from a file, or do I need to upload it from a website? I’ve been trying to attach photos through the New Attachment function but (based on my “preview post”) it doesn’t seem to be working.

My Tiki's breeder has retired.
Thanks to Fay McGee-Waldner of Chat-An-Dolls Ragdolls for my wonderful cat and the international contribution that she made to the Ragdoll breed. I'm sorry to see her go.

I bought this about a year ago and it's superb. I run it daily and it's great for getting fur out from under furniture as well as the litter that gets tracked. A couple of cautions though:
you must clean the two brushes every few days as hair builds up and will keep the vacuum in high mode which is hard on the battery so it may have to recharge several times. I have a slightly more than 1000 square foot 2 bedroom/2 full bath condo, (mostly hardwood except for carpet in the bedrooms), and it will clean the entire place on one charge as long as it kicks down to the lower mode on the carpet. My only regret is that they came out with a newer model that empties the bin itself!
I do love that I can either set it up to start automatically every day, at different times if you like with a 7 day programmer, but I've read cautionary tales about "Poopageddon" where the poop gets distributed all over the house so I don't often run it when I'm not home to supervise.

I probably should mention that Tiki accepted it immediately and gets excited whenever it starts up. Eli was terrified of it but ignored it after about a week. He goes up on a bed or a cat tree when it starts up and Tiki follows it around the house.
