Ideas for a theme for the 2021 Calendar? - Codysmom - 07-18-2020

It'll soon be time for me to start on the 2021 calendar and I thought I'd ask whether anyone had any ideas for a theme I could use to inspire me? A theme or an idea, anything really, just to get me started.

I've had a few ideas but haven't settled on anything yet so any input would be appreciated. Thanks xo

I don't really know anything about past themes, so I'm not sure what to suggest...

With so many of us in lock-down, how about pictures of our babies looking as bored as we are feeling. Or, perhaps, sleeping kitties, preferably, in strange positions?

Over the years I've always tried to do something a bit different, I won't share all but I'll start you off with the 2016 calendar which was a mini mirror image set in various nature backgrounds.

The 2017 calendar was set in floral backgrounds with bokeh.

2018 I used water, snow and clouds:

2019 I went to a simple background with a bokeh effect.

and then 2020 I used a coloured background with fog and clouds. This was my personal favourite to date and oddly enough the most difficult as I had to use a number of filters etc. to the the right effects, but I was pleased with the outcome.

It could maybe work BUT, might be challenging for the members to photograph keeping in mind it is for a calendar and not just a fun post. I would need calendar worthy pics of the 'bored', 'sleeping' kitties that would make for a really nice calendar.

IF everyone was able to get really great pics, I'd say it could be a very good idea. It would depend on the 'if'! Wink

If everyone feels they're up to the challenge I'm all for it, OR, we could have a 'mixed' bag and have some that are sleeping/bored and others just cute expressions???

They are all so gorgeous but I do like the fog and clouds best and I REALLY like the watercolor type background of your current signature. Big Grin x
I just had another look and compared them all and for me the standout was indeed the 2020 calendar. I love the subtlety of the effects because it really "throws" the face of each pet forward and makes their eyes so piercing...

That's what I like too. I wanted to really feature each cat.
