Fluff LOVES his catgrass... - MUM_of_FLUFFY - 04-10-2022

I just wish he wouldn't sit in it while he's eating it!!! But I could never be cross with that face...
I know I'm biased but he really does have the sweetest, most adorable face...

It makes sense. Now when he cleans his butt, he really, really enjoys it. He is truly gorgeous.

So cute that Zimba & Fluffy do the same thing!!! Smile I have another pot of cat grass seedlings growing outside the enclosure, but they're still too delicate to put inside with him...he chomps on the grass like a horse!!!

Yes I waited till the cat grass was huge before putting in with them cause they chomp on it so hard.  This is the one I completed a while ago.  It looks like its ready for another hair cut.

I have another one I'm growing out the enclosure so I can make another tub like this that way there will be one each. I find it grows better in part shade.

This is the fledgling pot of little seedlings...it's going to be some time before they will be ready!!!
My plan is to keep growing some more pots so I can get them on some kind of rotation system... Smile

Can you get plants already started here we can get 3 for $10 from bunnings I find they grow faster than the seeds.. I get them from the section that sells herbs and stuff.

I usually buy small plants - this is the first time I've ever grown them from seed. These seedlings are about 4 weeks old and it's taking f-o-r-e-v-e-r... It's interesting as an experiment, but next time I will definitely get some baby plants that are already started. Smile

Fluffy looks adorable sitting in his grass. xx

I can't keep up with the grass, between Katy and Wesley they chomp it down in no time. Your kitty grass looks amazing Helen. What seed/seedlings do you ladies buy? I must try and find something similar over here.

It's possible to buy them online here in Australia and they send them in the post!!! Normally I buy them from this place:

https://www.herbcottage.com.au/collections/all/products/cat-grass

Not sure if you have any similar places that post plants? You can try searching for tubestock plant nurseries in your area using the search term: tubestock plants online.

Or you can try the search term: Dactylis glomerata tubestock.

Hopefully you can find somewhere!!!

Also - good tubestock nurseries will only post plants once a week on Mondays (so they don't end up sitting in a post depot over the weekend). And...it's better not to get them posted in the middle of summer. Autumn and Spring are the best times to buy tubestock.
