Fluff has a whole box of toys - but a small ball of foil is still one of his favourites Smile And - he has a mouse toy with a feather tail that I often find next to me when I wake up. But yesterday morning he decided to take waking me up to the next level...
I was lying in bed - awake - but hoping to go back to sleep - when I felt Fluffy's whiskers on my ankle. I thought to myself:
I must keep really still so I don't accidentally kick him in the face...
There was a feeling of absolute horror as I realised a bug was now crawling up my leg. I leapt out of bed and knocked it flying through the air. Fluff pounced in an (admittedly) superb acrobatic display and swatted the creepy-crawly into submission. I staggered into the kitchen to make coffee... The "little stinker" was so pleased with himself - and looked at me as if to say: Best. Day. Ever...

That's so funny Pam, I can just imagine it! Big Grin

I have this fear that one of the furries will bring something horrible on the bed one day, we like Australia also have a huge variety of horrible creepy crawlies.
The other morning I lifted the mat that I keep next to the bed because the tiled floor can get a bit cold when I step out of bed and to my absolute HORROR I discovered a dead baby
scorpion (which I'd probably stood on the night before) lying underneath. I had goose bumps for some time afterwards and even typing this makes my hair stand on end. HORRORS!!!!
I'm so thankful it didn't sting one of us or any of the pets!!!

Oh Colleen - I'm still so jumpy from it!!! We've had a 4 day heatwave here (which thankfully broke with some light showers today). The insects have been seeking refuge inside and I had to kill a spider in the bathroom the other night. Fluff was NOT pleased that I locked him out of the bathroom and tackled the job myself.

I had a German Shepherd x Dingo many years ago who got stung by a scorpion. We were playing board games when I noticed her face looked very strange. It was hard to see the redness because of her black nose - but her eyes started to swell shut and her face ballooned like a basketball. We found the dead scorpion by the fridge and rushed my dog to the vet (naturally it was after-hours...) She recovered, but I don't think I did... I haven't seen a scorpion since but I'm still terrified of them - and I would be having nightmares if I found one near my bed!!!

Very glad you're all OK and none of the furries found it...

Being slipping up this past week. Wesley has just turned 5 months old (22 weeks) and I haven't posted any updates.

Right now he's sleeping on the desk next to my computer keeping me company, this little chap couldn't be cuter, we are absolutely loving him. He is such an inquisitive boy and keeps us entertained with all his cute and funny little ways. He loves playing peek-a-boo and still enjoys playing with Cody and Bailey, jumping on them and it's really funny to watch Bailey and Wesley taking turns chasing each other up and down the passage.

Here are some pics I took a couple of days ago.

I'm amazed at how long his tail is, he's a long boy (starting to fill out more now too) and his tail cat wrap around in front of his face.

Love that cute little paw...

I was talking to him here and he was stretching out his paws towards me, so cute!

Hiding under the coffee table, a bit dark unfortunately.

Thank you Helen, he really is growing amazingly fast, they just don't stay small long enough. xo

I managed to take a video of the two of them playing this morning that I'll share below.

Right now these two clowns are charging around the bedroom like lunatics, hope they'll tire each other out soon or I won't get much sleep. Lol

In reference to the Creepy Crawler part of the post.
My friend has been awakened three times this week by a live mouse being delivered to her in the early morning hours.  Her boy is so proud of himself. He stands on the end of the bed and prances.   However, she is threatening mayhem if he doesn't stop.  I sent her this poem.  She will probably never speak to me again.
