RE: To the Vet Again - Ragstimes1 - 08-25-2019 Jamie got his cone off after two days and put it in the litterbox. I think there's a message there - LOL. He finds great comfort sleeping in his litter boxes. I did read that in times of stress they will do that because it smells familiar. We'll probably need to get the ear drained tomorrow and then hopefully on Thursday, Doc will put a drain in his ear which will keep it from filling up. I'm not sure who was more stressed yesterday. I think it might have been me as he slept all day, all night and is back in the box now. He did use the box, ate, drank, snuggled with Mom and is now having his 19th nap of the day. I'm getting some much needed cleaning done. Sue RE: To the Vet Again - Tikismom - 08-25-2019 Poor guy. Thanks for the update and fingers crossed for his speedy recovery! RE: To the Vet Again - HelenMac - 08-30-2019 How's Jamie doing? RE: To the Vet Again - Ragstimes1 - 08-31-2019 We finally got the last bloodwork back with good findings and Jamie had his ear fixed on Thursday. It is obvious that he already feels so much better. He's managing without the cone. He is doing well at not scratching and the cone he had managed to "fly off" 5 times within a few hours. The next day he was in my lap purring and kneading and I may not worry about the pain meds tomorrow as the pain seems to be minimal. The problem went on for almost 2 weeks and I finally asked the vet if he could have something for the pain. Wow, that helped. The vet was able to do the regular surgury w here they stitch the front/back of the ear and then it cannot fill again. He was going to just put a drain in there but decided that da squirt would probably manage to get that out. Oh, I have a cat again!! No more sleeping 24/7 in the carrier. Last night he slept on the other pillow on the bed. What a good boy I've got back again!! Sue RE: To the Vet Again - admin - 08-31-2019 That's great news! RE: To the Vet Again - NatsFan78 - 08-31-2019 That is wonderful! I am so happy your precious boy is doing better. RE: To the Vet Again - RaggyMomma - 08-31-2019 Awesome news |
