This is wonderful new! Very excited for you. Smile
Because Ava will still be a kitten when the new fur baby comes I'm pretty sure she'll welcome him home fairly quickly.

Please do post pics when they're born and the breeder sends some, it really is such an exiting time waiting for them. Even though the breeder has been pretty good in sending pics of Wesley for me, I must say it still feels like an age waiting. always a problem when you're so excited! Wink

If you use another bedroom for the newcomer, consider staying there yourself too. It should go well, but they will set the pace. You want to avoid any spat at the beginning, which likely will take time for recovery.

The waiting is hard, but at least this time I have Ava to occupy me.  At the time I was considering a cat at all, I had an elderly, 17 yr old Havanese dog.  But I decided to place a deposit in mid-June and my dog passed on June 27th.  Ava wasn't born until July 1st and I didn't pick her up until Oct 18th. So I had 3 1/2 months to mourn my dog and wait for Ava.  I just occupied myself over the summer with purchasing all of the supplies I'd need. It should be easier this time since Ava is already here.

It's been a while since I've posted but I'm happy to say I did get a 2nd kitten this past April - a male blue bicolor lynx named Max.  Ava was about 10 months old when I brought Max home at about 14 wks.  I did a slow introduction over about 5 days, with several short, nose to nose meetings, then an hour "play" session, a 3 hour session, then finally Max was free!  There was never any hissing and they have become buddies.

Ava has become somewhat of a diva, taking her petting on her terms only.  But she is always nearby and will tap my leg if she wants to be petted.  I then get in about 5 or 6 pats until she's had enough and will try to bite or strike out, but she'll still stay by my side.  Max is so different.  Ava had been so timid in the beginning, hiding her first 2 days here, then taking about a week to come downstairs on her own and explore.  Max hasn't got a timid bone in his body.  His first night here he made it onto my bed, rubbing his face against mine, purring very loudly, before curling up to sleep beside me.  He's a real cuddler and I could pat him for hours.  Ava rarely purrs and when she does you feel it more than hear it.

Morning and evening meals of wet food had become quite stressful as Ava eats very slowly and Max doesn't [Image: biggrin.png].  He's a little piggy and would just move on to Ava's bowl when finished with his own and Ava would move away for him.  So I had to supervise and usually hold Max (tightly) until Ava finished.  I tried putting Max in the bathroom for a few minutes but he cried and Ava would leave her food and just go sit outside the bathroom door.  So I've purchased the Surefeed Microchip Feeder for Ava and linked only her chip.  She, of course, was a bit intimidated by the cover opening and closing at first, but after about a week has finally become used to it.  Max, on the other hand, was all over that thing, trying from the front, back and sides to get it opened.  I've also had to order the back cover for this as when it opens for Ava, Max simply tries to get in from the back or sides.

But it's been so much fun having the both of them - the Diva and the Clown.  At 6 months now, Max is larger than in these pics.  They grow so fast.

Such beautiful babies! Thank you for coming back and updating us.

Oh, I had 4 at one time so two really shouldn't be a problem.  I have 2 now and it's the first time I've ever had girls with me.  I'm so glad you were able to find another kitty and hope that you all work things out.  Be blest.
