RE: Meet Jewels - MissViv - 01-06-2021

I am so sad to announce that we returned Jewels to the breeder.

We got back half of the $$$ we paid for her and I hated to do it but Phoebe was very unhappy. Jewels was scratching & biting us and we tried everything to stop her behavior. She would not use scratching posts and would draw blood on our hands and face almost daily.

She was a cutie but I think our home is just a one cat home. Phoebe is much happier now that Jewels is not here.

Thanks for all the advice & comments and I should have listened to you and not went through with the purchase.

Sorry to hear that she didn't work out. At least the breeder returned half your money which is more than I'd have expected given that most breeders of the unaccepted variants are in it to make a buck.
Glad that Phoebe is a happier cat now.

It is a hard decision to make, but you know when it is the right one. I am so glad to hear that Phoebe is getting back to herself. The resident cat has to be the number one priority.

I do hope you stay on the board and keep us up to date on your beautiful Muffin Girl.

Thanks to all of you for your kind words. It was a hard decision to make but for the best. Phoebe is much happier now and getting back to her old self.

I'll keep in touch from time to time even though I do not have a ragdoll.

You and Phoebe are most welcome here and it doesn't matter one bit to me that you don't have a ragdoll...

RE: Meet Jewels - Ragstimes1 - 01-07-2021

For the first time in 20 years, I don't have a ragdoll.  I looked extensively and couldn't find what I considered a reputable breeder who had available kittens, planned litters, etc., so I went to the local shelter and applied for Coco and Willow (two silver tabby girls who are now about 8 months old).  It never even dawned on me I'd have to pull up my tent and go home (lol).  I would have loved to have found another ragdoll but it just didn't seem to be in the stars.  They have either sold them all or have cut back because of Covid.  Willow and Coco snuggle and make me laugh.  I thought about you and nails.  We're going to the vet tomorrow to have a tech cut their nails.  Every time I try, they pull them away from me.  After getting one leg all dug up, I picked up the phone. If you ever do the shelter route and want more than cat, make sure you ask to get pets that are bonded - so much more fun for me and them. Plus you do save some lives.

I did find that the shelters had a limited number of pets for adoption.  Apparently during Covid, many people have adopted because they are home so much.  Great for their pets but it made it hard for the rest of us.

I know it must have been a very hard decision for you and your hubby to make, but I'm glad Phoebe is happier and I'm sure the breeder will find Jewels a home where she can settle in too. Thankfully she's still a kitten and they adapt so well.

Please do stay with us and post pics of your beautiful Phoebe, it'll be so nice to get to know her and you better. xo

I'm so glad Coco and Willow have settled in so well and have brought you smiles after the loss of your boys. They are beautiful girls and it'll be lovely to see more of them. xo
