That sounds like a wonderful idea!!  I took your advice but ordered from Amazon - read the reviews carefully.  Ordered one of each.  Now I just have to wait for the first week of March for them to get here.  I just needed a nudge.  Thanks.

I know how you feel - mine was hidden in the house for 2 years - until I finally used it outside...

Somehow it felt like giving up and admitting weakness if I used it outside. I find it especially useful navigating kerbs and steps. You mentioned icy conditions which I don't experience here - but I found something called an ice grip attachment which might be relevant to your weather conditions...

I saw something similar to that today but if it is icy out, I stay inside.  If it is bad walking, it will be just as bad driving so I wait for the roads to melt down.

Sure will be interesting when they get here.  I guess I'll have to check indoors before I go inside anywhere to make sure there is no one else there - LOL.  My brother has a collection of things he got for my dad.  He suggested I leave one in the car and the other in the house.  I'll have to see which one I like best.

I have news for the two weenies - we are all going to be much earlier tonight. I've run out of gas.....

Hope you're feeling better Sue? Your brother makes a lot of sense suggesting keeping one in the car and one at home. I'm very interested to hear your reviews on the canes once they've arrived...

Give the weenies a kiss from me... P x

A friend of mine recommended the Hurry Cane - but it has the small quad foot on it and it's flexible.  We'll see when these come how well they work.  My buddy Coco wanted me to get up and open a can of food this morning so she decided to knock the knick knacks off the bookshelf.  What a darling!  Glad they weren't 3 months younger when I got them.  I never would have lived through it.

My dad always used the 4-footed kind with no problem. Stan uses the standard type most of the time. However, when his back is feeling pretty good (usually in the warmer weather months) and he can stand a bit more upright, he uses what looks like an Alpine Walking Stick.

Ooh! I do like the look of the hurry cane - the quad foot looks smaller and more manageable...

Following your inspiration Pam, I took a few geranium cuttings (2 red and 1 pink) and planted them into a seedling box. This is how they look a few weeks back, they've grown a lot since then. Feeling pretty chuffed! Smile
