Growth and coat changes over the first year. - Codysmom - 01-23-2020 I thought this might be interesting for newer Ragdoll owners, to see the growth and coat changes as they mature over the first year. I'll start off with Katy my bluepoint bi-colour girl. FIRST YEAR OF GROWTH: I got this photo from the breeder, Katy when she was 8 weeks old here - April 2014 (our autumn/fall) Katy at around 12 weeks old she was still with the breeder here. - May 2014 This is Katy on the day I got her, she was 4 months old, it was on the 9th of July 2014. (winter - southern hemisphere). 5 months old - August 2014 (winter) 6 months old - September 2014 (spring) 7 months - October 2014 (spring) 8 months - November 2014 (spring, but summer coat). By this time the daytime temps are really hot. 9 months - December 2014 (summer coat) 10 months - January 2015 (summer coat) 11 months - February 2015 (summer coat), she was born at the end of February, this was around 2 weeks before she turned a year. 1 year - She was already a lovely sized girl with LOTS of floof! Please feel free to share your Ragdolls growth and colour change, it's so interesting watching them grow. Katy is my fluffiest Ragdoll, Cody' fur tends to lie closer to his body, but his mane has grown. I hope to post his first year of pics soon, being a lilac you don't see much change in colour till they reach around 18 months. I hope to do Fozzy sometime, being male it's nice to see their growth too, but I'm just not ready for that yet. I still can't see photos of my beautiful boy without crying yet. I hope it'll eventually come. Looking forward to seeing some more pics! RE: Growth and coat changes over the first year. - Codysmom - 01-23-2020 I thought I'd add a comparison starting from when I got her in July 2014 to show their annual growth. July 2014 July 2015 July 2016 May 2017 July 2018 - a bit of a fun pic, but it shows all her floof. Lol! June 2019 RE: Growth and coat changes over the first year. - NatsFan78 - 01-23-2020 Thank you so much for sharing your gorgeous pictures! I love seeing all the changes as they grow, I could look through the pictures all day lol. I lost a lot of my pictures of Jaxon when my iPad died. I am working to try and get them back. I will post when I do. He has already changed a lot! He is getting a lot more fluffy. I hope others will share too. If you have at least that will have saved some. It is fun watching them grow and I honestly have LOADS of photos of all my fur babies for which I'm so thankful now. Every now and again I go through some of my older photos and get lots of surprises. When I was doing this thread I found so many lovely pics which I don't think I've ever shared. I want to upload them onto Flickr so that I can share them sometime. I'm enjoying going through Cody's photos right now. Sadly when he was a kitten I didn't have the cameras I have now, but I still have some lovely ones all the same. Enjoy the kitten stage, it passes so quickly as you can see from Katy's pics. x RE: Growth and coat changes over the first year. - NatsFan78 - 01-23-2020 Thank you! Unfortunately I did not have most of them on Flickr. I thought they were saved in the cloud but I am missing a ton of pictures. Thankfully I still have over 200 but I am missing at least 40 to 50 of his earliest ones. I take tons of pictures of him and my 10 month old grandson. I have over 3,000 pictures and over 100 videos of Charlie. He will certainly never have to wonder what he looked like as a baby when he gets older lol. They are both growing and changing so quickly, I want to capture every moment of it I can. Your pictures are so gorgeous! When my daughter was growing up I've got loads of pics and videos of her. Now she doesn't like me to take photos of her. I won't even try to count how many kitty pics I've got. But I have a LOT! RE: Growth and coat changes over the first year. - MUM_of_FLUFFY - 01-26-2020 As I scrolled through all the pics of Katy a strange noise emanated from my mouth. It went like this: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! You bring out the best in all your subjects Colleen - but I'm convinced that Katy may well be the prettiest ragdoll on the face of the earth. The growth and change between 4-5 months is absolutely astounding. And she just gets more and more gorgeous every year...

Naturally I'm extremely biased and I agree with you 100%. xo RE: Growth and coat changes over the first year. - Codysmom - 02-03-2020 I'm still busy going through Cody's pics to show his growth and colour change in a lilac, hope others can also contribute with some of the other colours. RE: Growth and coat changes over the first year. - Smudge's Mom - 02-03-2020 Muffin development is much the same. This is baby Pooka. The photos were sent to me by her breeder after I rescued her from her original adopters. Pooka is on the right. You can see the beginnings of her eye make-up. This is Pooka in her prime at four years old. Just found the one I took on her first birthday. This is my little old lady now. Not bad considering that she is 88 in human terms. |
