Covid 19 - human to cat transmission - MUM_of_FLUFFY - 07-28-2020

Following the post by Jan H in the thread "we are becoming known" regarding human-to-cat-transmission of Covid 19 I'm trying to find more information about this.

Thanks for this forum and Jan H's initial post on this subject!!! I'm trying to find good quality evidence-based scientific information. The Cornell page has some excellent links:

https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/newsroom/news/sa_by_date/sa-2020/sars-cov-2-animals

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/animals.html

At this point there is no evidence of cat to human transmission (zoonosis) but there is evidence of human to cat transmission (reverse zoonosis). So it seems our cats are more at risk at getting it from us than we are of getting it from them.

That's been a huge wake-up call for me...

Thank you so much for posting this link.  I read it over quickly and will re-read much more thoroughly when I Have downed a couple of cups of morning coffee.
In the meantime, I have had a discussion with Pooka and Paddy.
They have agreed to wearing their masks but said "Phttt!!!" to social distancing.
