Semi-annual Senior Exams - Smudge's Mom - 08-24-2020 Pooka and Paddy are doing great. Paddy's seasonal allergies are acting up a bit, but the new 'script and a change in the weather in the next month or so should make him a lot more comfortable. Dr. Brown said Pooka is holding her weight well and Paddy's poundage is acceptable for a purebred ChunkaLunka . Pooka is developing cataracts which make her near vision a bit blurry, but her nose is very capable of getting her to the treats. And I guarantee you that she sees a lot better than I do. She is still able to get up and down the steps to the basement (even though it is a bit scary to to watch those back legs slip/slide every which way). I am not sure why she loves to go to the basement because, as we all know, it is NOT to use the litter boxes. If any of you have cats and/or dogs with joint issues, please speak with your vets about injectable Adequan. It has made such a difference in her mobility and comfort level. Paddy's fur is a bit dry and coarse and whether it is age related (he is twelve and a half) or allergy induced we are not sure, but he is getting a salmon oil (omega 3/omega 6) supplement which should help make him soft and shiny again. Pooka's coat is still lovely...fluffy, soft. She gets professionally groomed once a month and truly seems to enjoy her spa day. That's about it for now. Hope everyone is doing well and surviving these trying times. RE: Semi-annual Senior Exams - Codysmom - 08-24-2020 Wow, that is fantastic news. Well done Princess Pooka and Paddy. What a relief it is when our babies grow older and are still doing so well. It's such a blessing. Doing our best over here, it has certainly been an 'interesting' year. We've just been put into a level 2 lockdown, more due to the financial crisis over here than what would be prudent, but we're still keeping in a strict lockdown at home mainly due to my elderly mom who hasn't been well this year. The fur babies are all well and demanding more attention than ever before, but that's fine by me. Who doesn't love kitty company. Katy has been quite a lap cat this winter, something she didn't do before, but has discovered it's wonderfully warm and cosy sleeping under a blanket on your lap. Cody loves to cuddle next to me under the covers so I've been enjoying great company (with Bailey usually cuddled on the opposite side). They are the best heaters. RE: Semi-annual Senior Exams - MUM_of_FLUFFY - 08-24-2020 That's wonderful news about Pooka and Paddy!!! RE: Semi-annual Senior Exams - JanH - 08-24-2020 One of our Siamese was blind in old age and got around perfectly. He would sense the air currents at open doors to distinguish closets and to move from room to room, used the litter in the basement, got food and water in the kitchen, joined us in the family room and bedroom ... . He got around on all three floors So, do not borrow trouble on that front |
