Totally over 2020 - HelenMac - 12-23-2020

Well this week has been the pitts will be so glad when 2020 is over.

First got a phone call 7.00am Sunday morning to say my Aunt (mum's sister) had died from covid 19  in Holland and could I go to mum for when my cousin rang to tell her.   My uncle also has covid and is in some quarantine facility he's doing okay but still running fevers so please pray he is okay and survives.

Then to top my week off woke up yesterday to my 19 year old freezer having died overnight and everything melted and yuk. $200 worth frozen food gone.    All the nice Christmas desserts ect completely melted so couldn't salvage.    Managed to salvage some meat and vegetables and make some casseroles that are now distributed round the village in other peoples freezers to look after for us until can get another freezer but unfortunately but had to throw out about 3 months worth of meat and vegetables.

Oh Helen I am terribly sorry to hear about your aunt and uncle. What an awful week you have had. All that work making desserts, down the drain...literally. I hope you can find a freezer quickly. I have heard because of Covid, they are much in demand and in short supply. Let us know how things go.

Smudges Mom your so right hardly any freezers left in the country not that we could afford to purchase one anyway due to my high medical costs. .  But little did I know that my darling mum had been busy ringing all the stores yesterday trying to find a freezer for us  and finally managed to find one and  a store that would deliver today and bought it for us and its just been delivered..  Then not long after there's a knock at the door and there is the Chaplin from the village with a big food parcel  from his church for us which included ham and desserts and all sorts of goodies and basics.. I feel so blessed what loving people there are out there. Heart

Unbelievable now my dryer has decided to pack a sad.. Sad   Hope the weather decides to co-operate  until can get fixed as so far our summer is non existent.  Confused Nothing but real high winds rain and so cold lack of sun and back in winter clothes this week. Had such heavy hail other day it looked like it had snowed. Confused Been down to 7c last 5 nights.  Even had to give in and put heat pump on.    Shadow back on my lap in the morning and  evenings as too cold to be out in the enclosure so thats one positive.. Heart  Please continue to pray for my Uncle he is in a real bad way.  Had the funeral for my Aunt yesterday they live streamed it for us and seeing him was such a shock. He is so frail now takes two to get him up. He is so confused can't go home  anymore so family have to look after him .

So sorry I'm late to this Helen, please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of your aunt. I pray your Uncle will be okay, it must be so difficult for him going through all this.

On my side it's been really difficult too. On the 10th my Father-in-law (in Germany) passed away from Covid, we also were able to watch the funeral via livestream as most of the family couldn't attend because they were in quarantine (4 of them with Covid). Then on Sunday the 27th a very dear and old friend passed away in hospital from Covid. She had been in intensive care for about 3 weeks, her funeral is tomorrow morning and we will be watching via livestream as well. It's been a very, very difficult year with so much sadness for many. Thinking of you my dear friend. xoxo
