Catnip Spray - Smudge's Mom - 01-26-2021
My guys love catnip, but sometimes I don't want the mess on the floor. Can anyone recommend a catnip spray for toys that actually works?? Right now we are using SmartyKat Catnip Mist but spraying with plain water would be just as effective

I don't know much about catnip spray but when I looked for the ingredients in the SmartyKat mist it says: The ingredients are Catnip Oil 0.15%, Peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil 0.50%, Methylchloroisothiazolinone 0.0012%, and Water 99.3488.

I did find some other brands with much higher concentrations: Meowijuana Catnip Spray is 75% organic catnip and 25% water. From The Field Catnip Spray Rejuvenator is guaranteed 96 percent potency (contains the active ingredient) and KONG Naturals Catnip Spray for Cats was also recommended, but I couldn't find percentages for that product.

Okay, great. Thank you. I am adding From the Field to my next Chewy order (due in two weeks.) If that is not to their liking I will try a new one each one until we find the right one.

I use aristopet cat nip spray its made with concentrated catnip oil to stimulate excercise and play. The active ingredient in catnip plants has been carefully extracted from leaves to create Aristopet Catnip Spray. Natural Ingredient Catnip Plant (Nepata cataria) extract Lasts 15 minutes.
When I spray the toys the boys throw them in the air roll on them and have fun. Definately works.

I usually buy most of Fluffy's stuff from Budget Pet Products (Australia) and I found out they stock the Aristopet Catnip Spray. So I can buy it here!!!

"From the Field" came yesterday and no reaction from either Pooka or Paddy. I guess I will have to stick to the dry and just keep the vacuum handy. Hopefully, some of the kitties at the shelter where I volunteer will enjoy it.
