Some pics from Khyeranggi of Claude and Steele - Codysmom - 02-06-2021 Mary-Margaret aka Khyeranggi, shared some pics of her beautiful boys Claude and Steele and a stunning painting she had in her home. Those of you from the old forum will remember what a challenge if was for MM to get the boys from Australia to Saipan and then tragically losing Steele some years later and having to re-home Claude due to the disaster on the island. MM, perhaps you could comment and tell us more about these pics... xo Here are the pics she asked me to share on the forum. I found a calendar page I made of MM's two boys so you can see them better. RE: Some pics from Khyeranggi of Claude and Steele - Smudge's Mom - 02-06-2021 Oh my, what wonderful memories. I don't think there is another breed (except maybe RagaMuffins) that will let you hold them like that. RE: Some pics from Khyeranggi of Claude and Steele - MUM_of_FLUFFY - 02-06-2021 Oh! they're so beautiful - I really love the lynx pattern!!! I wasn't a member of the old forum - but I've always been curious about these kitties because I heard they came from Australia. I would LOVE to hear more about Claude and Steele... PS: At first I thought the painting was a real window!!! pam x RE: Some pics from Khyeranggi of Claude and Steele - Khyeranggi - 02-07-2021 Thank you so much, Coleen! This was our home, before Typhoon Yutu. The paintings I commissioned from an artist on Bali. The paintings survived, and now are hanging in a friends house. Water damaged but sound. Funny what was left and what was lost. After the typhoon, Claude was locked in the bathroom for days with no electricity. I had to rehome him. No choice. I was homeless. We were all homeless, staggering stupidly, lost. No power for months. I was fortunate as my neighbor was the director of Saipan cares for animals. She was also homeless, but took Claude into a hotel room with seven Bonnie cats and assorted dogs and he just freaked out. She quickly found him a home with some fancy rich folks who think to this day that they have a Persian cat. He remains the first and only Ragdoll in all of Micronesia, and I am happy that he is pampered and loved. Now, I am well homed, but no pets. I am just grateful for a concrete house, storm shutters, and a generator. Tonight, I was speaking with a friend saying, “Come on, super typhoon!” And I instantly regretted the comment, because, no one ever anywhere should have to survive such devastation. On the bright side, we are Covid free. Folks are looking at us throughout Asia as a destination. We have the highest vaccine numbers per population than any US State or territory. So proud of my home. Even The NY Times found our home to be one of the 52 places to love in 2021! https://mvariety.com/news/saipan-is-one-of-52-places-to-love-says-the-new-york-times/article_ed9422b6-5a21-11eb-a5cc-b34615461bf8.html At the end of the day, I hold you all dear and continue to lurk here. Who knew, cats! |
