If you're getting you kitten from Edie I don't think you'll have any worries, judging from everyone who has one of her kittens they are extremely well socialised besides she'll be able to advise you on personality.

Also, you should only be getting your kitten at 12 weeks. All the reputable breeders (of any cat breed for that matter) won't let their kittens go before then because they need to learn important socialisation skills from their mom and siblings among other things. But don't worry that you have to wait an extra month it's well worth it.

Cody came home to me at 13 weeks, Fosco at 15 weeks and his sibling sister I got a month later (she was unplanned) lol, but so glad I could have two kittens together it was twice the fun.

Keep in mind that a good part of this is the owner. Some cats who are lap cats do not like to stay on the lap of someone who moves around or is up and down. So, the owner who wants to have a lap cat needs to mold her behavior to appeal to what her cat wants. (That is the reason some of us get paralyzed from not disturbing the cats for long periods.)

Freyr and Freya were actually cuddly kittens, when they weren't tearing the place apart. However Freya had problems with her spay and had to be separated from Freyr for almost 2 months. That affected their relationship and mine.
MonAmi and Rune, I am not sure if my 3 week holiday a few weeks after getting them affected our bond.
I always said they were not cuddly.  However now at almost 10 and 8 years the four above have their own way of getting cuddles and love.
My secret is a blanket, a fuzzy blanket. The minute I put the blanket on and the leg rest up  while watching tv, I will have a couple Raggies on me or on the leg rest.
They all still rather beside then on an that is okay because that California Red is always on top of me..... Another good reason to let a good breeder choose for you.
