Paddy"s Back In Hospital - Smudge's Mom - 11-08-2021
He has been unable to urinate. They drained his bladder which was bigger than a baseball. The urine was cherry red.
They have him on fluids and have him catharized (no easy feat with a cat that has had PU surgery). They will be doing blood work to make sure that his kidneys have not been damaged. The doctors are not sure of the cause, but say that the stress of the surgery and being in a hospital may have caused his urethra to go into a total spasm.
They will call me as they get more answers.

Paddy will be in hospital for 2-3 more days with fluids and catheter until the urine is clear again and he is going on his own

Oh Gina - I was so sad to hear this is happening to Paddy - my heart goes out to you...
Thinking of you and your darling boy and hoping this will be resolved ASAP so you can bring him home again...
