Ring Out The Sad, Ring In The Glad - Smudge's Mom - 01-02-2022 The SAD As you know we lost our wonderful PookaPee in mid October. What I didn't tell you is that Judy (my daughter) lost our precious Fozzie Bear just 3 weeks later. It was not unexpected...he was a giant breed of nearly 15 years, but it was still heartbreaking. But then, on the morning before Thanksgiving, she lost Marty. He was walking to his breakfast and suddenly collapsed. They rushed him to the vet and it was determined that his foreleg was shattered. After much consultation with their regular doctor and two orthopedic specialist it was determined that Marty had undiagnosed bone cancer. Because of his size, age and arthritic problems, it was decided that amputation was not an option in that it would probably only give him an additional six months of absolute misery. He was helped to pass at that time. The GLAD On Christmas Eve, Judy and Brian adopted two precious tabby girls from one of the rescues that I have worked with for many years. They are 8 month old sisters that were born in the foster home so are wonderfully socialized. Their names are Tabitha and Mystic. Within 48 hours of arriving at Judy's and Brian's, they were not only right at home, they had pretty much taken over the home. And since the little ladies had been raised with dogs, Judy and Brian decided to go ahead and adopt an 8 month old Great Pyrenees/Bernese Mountain pup named Sierra. She had been raised with cats and had shown no aggressive tendencies whatsoever. They brought her home on New Years Day and started a very slow introduction today. So far all is going very well. Sierra seems pretty disinterested in the girls and Tabitha's attitude seems to say, " I was here first so deal with it." Mystic seems to feel that as long as food is plentiful, it doesn't matter who has come for dinner. Anyway that is what has been going on around here. So here are a couple of pictures of my new grandkids. PS. Sierra is already 85 pounds RE: Ring Out The Sad, Ring In The Glad - MUM_of_FLUFFY - 01-02-2022 Oh my!!! They're all so gorgeous!!!
