My amazing PookaPee would have been 20 years old today. We miss her so much.

Oh Gina!!! Of course you miss her... I love the photo you posted of her at 1 year old... and the story of how you rescued her from the 'evil people'... and the stately princess she grew into...
It's almost 2 decades of your life intertwined with her - I can only guess at the depth of loss you must feel...
My words are somewhat clumsy here - but I'll try... When I got my dog Eddie and later my cat Fluffy I loved them at first sight - but I couldn't really, truly love them because I didn't know them yet... I didn't know their quirky, wonderful ways and we didn't have shared experiences yet...
I loved Eddie for the best part of 15 years and if I could spend one more minute with him - it wouldn't be him as a puppy - it would be with that beautiful, wise, grey muzzled dog that I shared so many experiences and made so many memories with...

Oh Gina, I feel for you. You had your beautiful girl for so many years and as Pam says the longer you have them the better you get to know and love them with their unique and quirky little ways which endear is to them even more.
Through you we all came to know and love your wonderful Pooka princess and I for one miss her too.

I know how you feel. I had my boys for a lot of years and although I love these girls, I do miss my boys tremendously. There is such a difference in personality. The girls fill the empty spot the boys left but I still miss them. I had the four of them so many years. Right now the house is quiet - everybody is sleeping. I assumed that because the boys let me clip their nails that the girls would too - guess again!! When somebody has been a part of your life that long, it is only natural to miss them. Just remember that she is up there and looking down on you and all you do. You'll be enjoying the new grandbabies too!!

Again, I can't thank you all enough for being there for me and for each other. Over the years we have been through the good and the bad. And although most of us have never met, we have become friends and family. I love you all.
