Shadow's unexpected trip to vet but he's okay - HelenMac - 09-13-2022
My poor boy unbelievable. Saturday was worming day so as usual did what I normally do part the fur and put profender on the back of both boys necks. Both took off running when I put it on. I did think at the time it was very strong smelling. I noticed both boys seemed to be scratching which is unusual bit didn't think anything of it. Silly m On Sunday I noticed shadow had scratched so bad he had a red bleeding bald patch. I immediatly bathed with normal saline and off to the vet we went again Monday as worried about infection.. Vet said definatley a reaction so no more profender for my boys. Anyway had a antihistamine injection and got antibiotic cream to put on. Zimba is okay thank goodness but was obviously irritated by it as I kept seeing him scratching and finding big clumps of his fur so tried to comb it out with a flea comb as for some reason this time left sticky patch on both their coats.. I did contact the distributor of profender and they paid for the vet visit and treatment. Vet took photos to send to them. Gabe did have a wonderful time cuddling Shadow though and Shadow was purring away head got higher and higher as Gabe was stroking under his chin. Then Gabe said to Shadow as much as I love cuddling you I have other patients to see its time to go. Shadow gave him a lick on his hand then jumped in his carrier ready to go home.

So glad it all turned out okay. Sounds like a caring company. Hopefully, they will fully test the batch and put out a recall if necessary.

So glad things turned out OK and the boys have such a magnificent cat mama watching out for them. Gabe sounds absolutely amazing and bless darling Shadow for being so loving. He's such a sweetheart...
I once ordered worming chews for my dog online and they were out of stock so they sent me Drontal Bayer tablets instead. I had a niggle of worry but dosed my dog according to directions. My dog became hyperactive and as a Jack Russell he was already inclined that way. It might sound funny but it was more like a psychotic episode.
I use Revolution on Fluffy and I've never had any problems with it. I got sent some samples of Revolution Plus and after careful consideration and research I put it in the bin. After the experience I had with my dog I decided not to risk it...
