Woo hoo today is the day - HelenMac - 04-28-2024

Hubby is on his way up to Auckland to pick up our little girl.   I'm so excited but also a bit apprehensive praying this time goes better..  Meanwhile I'm here getting her safe private zone ready. Decided wasn't going to lock her in our bedroom as it made it too difficult when Zimba wanted to go in the enclosure ect and meant he couldn't get to me at night if he wanted me..   Instead we  built a room divider out of a huge big refrigerator box we got from the store and the pen so she will have the kitchen dining and bit of the lounge for her self we put her new cat tower in there aswell... Gives her room to play and sleep plus be able to see us. We put a big mesh screen up so her and Zimba can see each other but not have contact.. It means Zimba can get to me at all times and still have access to the enclosure.    When he's asleep in the bedroom we will let her out to explore the rest of the lounge. I will put her in the pen at night so I know she is secure and Zimba can't get to her.   The feliway is plugged in and running.  Do you think I should leave one half of the pen covered so she can hide if she wants.  I am going to put her carrier in there for a bed as breeder will put her own blankie in there for the trip down plus she has a open bed also.

Would please adopt me. I promise I will be nice to Zimba. Your set-up sounds wonderful. You can cover half the pen if you wish and it is not too much work or you can just cover her carrier so she can have privacy when she sleeps or relaxes.

She arrived yesterday and lets just say double trouble she is Zimba in disguise lol this is going to be fun.  I can't wait for them to be friends because then I'm going to have two crazy cats on my hand.  She so has his personality.  Her great grandfather is Zimba's father.  Within 5 minutes of going in her safe zone she managed to jump the gate and get out.  Put her back in turned the gate round to make it taller..  What does she do she  somehow managed to jump on the roof of the playpen and collapse it and get out  Rolleyes   she does not want to be contained.   She is happy to meet Zimba but our boy is a bit wary of her but happy watching her as long as she doesn't get too close. If he cries she just looks at him as if to say whats your problem turns around and walks away and finds a toy to play with.. lol. I will continue to lock her in her play pen at night.   But while we are here in the lounge will let her out to play. She is still a kitten at 21 months so lots of energy to burn.. She is busy playing out in the lounge with us and Zimba has fallen asleep on the cat tower watching her. When you pick her up she snuggles in and purrs so loud does my heart good.  I have fallen head over heals in love with her. She is going to fit right in.   Last night for the first time since we lost Shadow Zimba didn't sleep behind the couch he slept on the cat tower in his old favourite place.   4am he came in and lay beside me for a cuddle I was so  happy to oblige.   Heart
