  When I was talking to the breeder about being added to her waitlist she asked about color preference. I couldn’t decide! They are all so gorgeous. After more hours than I would care to admit of looking at pictures my favorite is the red point. Hopefully one day soon soon I will have a precious red point boy named Simba. I think that would be a perfect name for him. 
  
  Anyway I was curious, what is your favorite color & pattern? Do you prefer males or females?

  Choose the kitten (or let the kitten choose you) based on personality and fit with you rather than color or pattern. We have had many kittens choose their families by how they reacted to them, sometimes taking a nap in their arms. (Hard to resist.) That is not to say you should not have in mind what colors and patterns appeal to you most. The breeder is also more important than color/pattern. Start by choosing the breeder and then choose the kitten based on temperament, including what you find out about temperament from the breeder. Only then choose based on sex/color/pattern. (Ask specific questions, because if you ask about being loving and attentive, all the kittens are likely to be that. Ask things like which kittens come to sit on the family, first to arrive and last to leave, cuddling and sleeping, up for play, begging for treats and active with toys. Whatever you think will be most important to you on a day to day basis. If the family is out for the school/work day, then perhaps a less needy kitten is the best fit -- or get two to be company for each other when the family is out.)
  
  Our first Ragdoll was a seal mitted male, which is the "template" for the Ragdoll breed - Daddy Warbucks and perhaps that is still our favorite by a bit.

  I found the perfect breeder, Edie at Raggymay, through advice on this forum. While I do like the red point and red mitted the best, the most important thing to me is health and personality. Thank you for the advice on specific questions to ask. I’m going to write down some questions so when the time comes to pick my baby I will have them ready.

  So glad your getting a baby from Edie she has the most gorgeous precious babies. I too wanted a red but ended up choosing Shadow after he chose me he is a Seal Mitted with a blaize and the most special boy. Then when I went to choose another baby after loosing Tigga my red boy Zimba chose me he is a blue mitted with a blaize and also a very special boy. Both are so cuddly and mum and dad's smoochy boys.

  Edie was so kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I am so grateful to have found her. I can’t wait until I can finally bring my little one home in a few months. I love the reds but I honestly am not set on any specific color. I am hoping for a sweet, loving, needy little guy who loves to cuddle and loves to play.

  Awesome you are joining the Edie family. She has beautiful kittens. Although if you look at my signature photo, you would think blues were my favorite. I didn't know about all the different colours when I started my addiction. The first two were litter mates. I had to get Freya as Freyr was just too lonely, even with other cats in the house. They were too old for him. The next two was hubby saying they had to match (really???) and MonAmi sort of snuck in with Rune If I was to do it all over again I would have one of each lol.
  My favs are the reds. I would love a seal tortie

  You have had some gorgeous babies! I feel like the reds are not talked about or seen as much, at least not in the Facebook groups I am in. That is too funny that your dear hubby insisted they had to match.
