Fluff does like being combed but only on the places he doesn't really need it. He loves being combed on the forehead and chin. He hates being combed on his belly and heaven forbid I should even touch his fluffy pantaloons.
Today I tried a new trick to entice him to tolerate more grooming - and it worked!!!
I took his comb into the study and placed it next to the keyboard. Then I focused on the computer as if he wasn't there. He couldn't stand that and when he jumped up onto the desk I started combing him. When he moved away I just pretended I was completely engrossed by the computer.
He couldn't stand that - so he jumped back up on the desk - and I groomed him again. We repeated this about 5 times. I love this new method because he comes to me willingly. I hate trying to catch him or hold him down when I need to groom him. It's not good for him and it's not good for me.
Although - I must admit I do sneak up on him when he's deeply asleep - because it's the only way I can comb his fluffy pantaloons!!!
