What an adorable kitty she is and I can totally understand why you're smitten you are with her.
I now have 4 outside cats I feed. Patches our old girl (12 years now) is a true feral, won't let me touch her but is coming closer and closer all the time. She will come within inches of me now but I can't touch her.
However, there's a gorgeous, lovable little calico girl who I've named Molly who just want to move in with us but as much as my heart would love her, my head is telling me it's impossible. Rabies, FIV, FeLV are all prevalent in outdoor kitties here let alone fleas etc. so although she sits and cries outside the door and will run to me meowing when she sees me outside I've had to harden myself against allowing her any contact with my gang because I risk putting them at risk.
It really makes me sad though because I know she must either belong to someone or she's been abandoned??? She is spayed because I've seen her around for a few years but only now is she actually 'living' in our yard. I feed her and I've made a little house for her with a warm blanket inside for her to sleep in, but it just breaks my heart to think about it.
We have two toms who come around as well, not sure of their history, but they don't appear to have homes and they have both been around for a few years now too. They trust me enough to pet them and will come running to me for food. I do however make sure I sanitise my hands if I have touched them whenever I come inside before touching any of my cats.
I'm sure that's what's making you feel cautious too. Just happy that you know who owns this lovely girl, wish I knew who owns/owned Molly.
MOLLY
PATCHES (our 12 year old girl)
BOBBY - one of the toms
He only has half a tail, not sure what happened, wish they could talk and tell us what happened to him, it obviously broke at some point because it's very stiff.
DUSTY - the other tom
