We're pretty much operating without restrictions here in Canada. In Alberta we're well vaccinated so our case counts are low although we are seeing a bit of a bump in cases but there's no talk of locking down. 97% of people who are hospitalized are unvaccinated, for whatever reasons because the vaccines are widely available now. -

My local pharmacist is getting the AZ vaccine delivered tomorrow and I should be able to get an appt. to get my first jab next week. She's going to call me back to let me know... -

I had AZ for both doses. The first one was more difficult than the second and that's a common refrain from others I know. Plan a few days of rest and you'll be fine. Glad you're getting it! -

My pharmacist just called back and I'm booked in for tomorrow!!!

UPDATE: I had my AZ vaccine today and only have a very slight tenderness at the injection site - barely noticeable.
It's such a relief to have it done...

So it's nearly a week since I had my AZ vaccine. I did get some redness and itching around the injection site but it's considered a good sign that the immune system is doing it's job. The itching has mostly subsided now and so has most of the redness. Some doctors recommend a topical steroid cream or an antihistamine to ease the itching and redness, but I decided I didn't want to do that. I don't want to apply ANYTHING to the injection site - I just want my immune system to deal with it - without any help from a steroid cream or antihistamine.
Mum is booked to her first AZ vaccine the day after tomorrow... -

Glad your reaction wasn't severe. If you mom is uncomfortable but you don't want to use meds, try an ice pack for ten minutes at a time. -

I found Tylenol helpful, per my doctor's recommendation, for the first few days to help with the aches and pains. -

It's 3 weeks since my first AZ vaccine and I've just booked in to get my second vaccine a week from today. Initially the health advice was to get the vaccines 12 weeks apart, but with the Delta strain it's now recommended to get the second dose 4 weeks after the first one. So that's what I'm doing...
It will be a relief to have the second vaccine out of the way, but it's not really going to change any of my behaviour. Masks are still mandatory - we're still in lock-down - and the Delta variant is the most challenging threat we've faced.
So I've been taking this time to contemplate the exact colour of Fluffy's eyes and his nose...
And - just spent the the better part of an hour scrupulously cleaning his PetKit fountain. It has two different filters and many different parts that require cleaning with a kitchen scourer, a nail brush and cotton buds to reach into all the tiny places. I am a slave to that cat and that fountain...
Fluffy supurrvised the entire process and rewarded me with at least 15 minutes of constant headbutting, cheek rubbing and demands for kisses on the forehead BEFORE he drank from it. That's right - he said a big thank-you to his mama before he had a long delicious drink from the fountain...
