To the Vet Again |

Last week the squirt and I took off for yet another visit with my vet. He took one look at Jamie and said Allergies but had no solutions. He said there are not many meds for cats for allergies but lots for dogs. Jamie had one shot of depo and instead of it lasting 4 weeks, it lasted 2. That's OK as I wasn't really interested in doing steroids with him. He's had the vetasyl before and that doesn't last long either. Both of the ear drops the vet would use irritate his ears to no end so we basically are using the Jackson Galaxy Skin Soother and a lot of TLC. When he really gets to itching and scratching, if I pick him up, he immediately settles down, purrs and often goes to sleep. I just feel bad. I'm still feeding him the Instinct LID turkey and he seems to really like that. Hopefully a change in food will help him. He gets no wet food or treats, no bizarre cleaning stuff, windows are pretty much shut all the time so it's hard to figure out what it could be from. The vet was smiling at Jamie watching him with his paw over my thumb kneading on the tip of the thumb. Oh, we discussed whether another cat would help and both agreed unless we could bring back Rags, Max or Beau, it was a done deal, no new kitties.
Anybody have any ideas? Aside from being frustrating for me, I feel bad for him.
Sue

Last week I was in hospital for surgery so hubby looked after the boys. He opened a packet of food fed the boys came back in the kitchen to find Zimba standing by his plate crying for food. He saw plate was empty so went to give him more then saw a neat pile of food in front of plate on ground. He had given Zimba a packet he didn't want so Zimba had scooped it out onto a neat pile on the floor.

Can't believe it's that time of the year already, anyway, as requested in my previous thread I'm going for a very simplistic theme for 2020, however it'll mean that I will need good frontal shots for the individual pages.
Please note: I will always try my best with any photo submitted to me, but obviously the better the photo, the better the final outcome will be.
You can email your photos unedited and in their original size to me at: katya.ragdoll26@gmail.com
I think most of the older members know what I need with regards to photos and photo quality etc. however for those of you who have never submitted photos before here are a few guidelines to please take note of:
As far as possible try and get photos of your cats either looking at you or in the direction of the camera, with good lighting so that you can see their eyes and their ears are pointed forward.
Example 1: Cat looking directly at the camera, good lighting on face and just a light shadow on the left half of the face.
Example 2: Cat looking away, but in the general direction of the camera with good lighting on the face.
PLEASE avoid the following:
Example 1: Too much light, eyes closed
Example 2 : Too dark and cats eyes are half closed and not engaging with the camera.
Example 3 : Far too dark, the eyes look black and very pixelated
Example 4 : Good lighting but bad subject, eyes half closed.
Example 5 : No ears, spoils the shot.
PLEASE NOTE - If you are in doubt whether your photo will work you can post it in the thread and I will let you know or email it to me.

Ragdolls and cat trees |

Do you have a cat tree for your ragdolls? I want to get a tall one for my living room but it would be next to a huge window. Can anyone recommend a cat tree that is stable and has a comfortable perch for my boy to sleep on? I also want one around 30-35 inches to put in my bedroom.

I have been thinking about different things I need for my boy when he comes home and I was thinking about where he will be fed. I am going to put his food and water in my kitchen or dining room. I was thinking about all the dirt my family carries in and I am concerned he will have dirt in his bowls. Now, I will be the first to admit I get completely carried away and absolutely overthink everything but I am not sure I want his bowls on the floor. I would not want to eat off the floor. I’m thinking of getting this little coffee table to set his bowls and fountain on. Is that crazy? Does anyone else use a table? It even has a drawer to store his food.
