RE: Poop issues - NatsFan78 - 11-20-2019 Thank you so much Jan. RE: Poop issues - HelenMac - 11-20-2019 My boys both got diarrhea when we moved house so I mixed the pumpkin in with their wet food which worked. RE: Poop issues - NatsFan78 - 11-20-2019 Thank you, I am going to get him some as soon as I can get to the store. RE: Poop issues - admin - 11-20-2019 Yes I third the pumpkin! Sorry I've been a bit addled of late and should have recommended trying it before. Both of mine like it without even mixing it into their wet food, It also freezes well if you buy a big can. I give them a tablespoon morning and night when they have issues. I'd start with less for your little mite though. I could sure do with some new pictures of Jaxon, hint hint... ;-) RE: Poop issues - Smudge's Mom - 11-21-2019 If you have an ice cube tray, freeze the pumpkin that way. Once frozen I stored them in a plastic bag and could defrost one a day as needed. Hope your boy is doing better today. I will post pictures later today. I tried taking some yesterday but it was so cloudy and yucky the lighting was terrible. I had to use the flash and he is not a fan. Hopefully I can get better ones today. Thank you. (11-21-2019, 06:55 AM)Smudge\s Mom Wrote: If you have an ice cube tray, freeze the pumpkin that way. He did poop first thing and it was liquid still. RE: Poop issues - RaggyMomma - 11-21-2019 There is also food with pumpkin in it as well - We feed Almo wet and they have a few varieties with pumpkin added. Check the pet food store as well. RE: Poop issues - admin - 11-21-2019 I seem to recall that the Almo isn't an AAFCO approved food but marketed as a treat or snack and there's the risk of futher GI upset by adding a food his system is not accustomed to... RE: Poop issues - NatsFan78 - 11-21-2019 I am starting the Bene-Bac today. I think I will see how that goes and try the pumpkin in a day or two. Thank you all for your help. True but I think some other brands as well have pumpkin in them as well. Rune loves pumpkin and mackerel so I try to find foods that have both lol. Since I feed mostly dry I don't worry about how the wet is marketed or if AAFCO approved it. Like all associations - they can be political in nature not always Interestingly I decided I hadn't read up on Almo lately, I first heard of it through Diane Addie in her FIP research. Today from reading their website and blogs I will continue to support them. https://www.almonature.com/it/ At the beginning of 2018, Pier Giovanni Capellino, the founder of Almo Nature, decided to become a pioneer of change by donating the company and 100% of its profits to the Capellino Foundation, which deals with the development of projects in defense of dogs, cats and biodiversity. |
