Vet nurse just rung me said she went in and called him he got up and came to the front meowing she opened the door and he immediately head butted her for pets and cuddles which she gave and he lapped it up.. I am so jealous. She gave him his pain meds and breakfast which he ate with gusto. She said he's amazing such a quick turn around obviously way more comfortable and such an incredable loving boy. Told her enjoy. She is looking after him all weekend so will ring me tonight.

Oh, that is great news...Maybe the hairball is breaking up and passing through. It is wonderful when you have a vet practice that stays in touch. That is the reason I have stayed with mine for nearly 30 years/

Smudges mom I'm so jealous she is getting the cuddles but so happy he's happy enough to give someone else the cuddles. Good will be the same girl all weekend one on one care. Vet actually removed the hair balls surgically yesterday when they went in as they were so big.

I will go back to getting them groomed professionally  like I used too I stopped it with covid but obviously I'm not doing a good enough job so need to restart it as me brushing and combing every day is not doing a good enough job.. Normally they get  their bellies shaved and a good brush comb out..  Problem is they groom each other he suggested I  try and stop that somehow.  All I can say is so glad I went with my heart and got them to explore further.

When I first got Fluffy and I was a brand new cat mama I thought I'll groom him for 15 mins every day and hairballs will never be a problem. HA! I soon learned...

When he was a kitten there wasn't that much hair to groom and he was easier to handle because he was smaller. Now it's a whole different story and boy does he let me know when he's had enough!!! He likes his forehead groomed and his mane groomed, but not much else. These days I have to wait until he's deeply asleep and sneak up on him to groom his fluffy pantaloons and tummy. Then he wakes up furious - with a look of total betrayal on his face...

Glad you went with your heart, vets know the best science, bur mama's know their baby best!!!

So happy for you and Shadow (((HUGS))) Heart Heart Heart

Vet nurse just rung to give me update Shadow he is so good she's amazed as soon as she goes in and calls his name he opens his eyes looks at her yawns gets up stretches and wanders over. She opens the cage he has cuddles and pets and then she lets him out to wander round and have some excercise she said he just follows her round head butting her for pets while she's there cleaning his bedding litter tray ect and preparing his food and meds... I'm so jealous but also so happy that he's built up such a repore with her. Has given me alot of peace. She rings me twice a day which is awesome.. Can't wait till tomorrow and I can bring him home.

It's so great that Shadow is having a positive experience with this vet nurse. He must feel so much better now those nasty hairballs are gone. Can't wait to hear about his homecoming!!!

Have to make sure Zimba doesn't play rough and tumble its obvious he's missing his big brother poor baby just wanders from room to room crying doesn't even want to play with me with da bird or mouse or his other favourite toy. Giving him lots pets and cuddles but he's not a happy boy. I have to hold the bowl petting him for him to eat. Tomorrow can't come soon enough.

Poor Zimba - cats feel things so deeply...

I've been grooming Fluffy today and he's not at all impressed with me. Normally I get a warning meow and he gently bites my hand. Today I actually got a hiss when I went too far (according to Fluffy's standards). He has never hissed at me before - so I probably did go too far. Luckily he's very quick to forgive me and later presented his forehead for a kiss.

So glad for you that Shadow is coming home tomorrow - only one more sleep!!!
