  Just a thought. Rather than an actual allergy (to chicken, poultry, etc.) which means the production of histamines, is it possible you are looking at a gluten or grain intolerance. An intolerance is not an actual allergy, but more of an inability to digest gluten containing grains (like Pooka) or any grain (like Paddy). With Pooka it caused years of severe constipation. Unfortunately, it took us so long to realize what it was that she developed Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Her intestines are scarred and thickened and she needs a daily dose of MiraLax to keep things moving. With Paddy we recognized the problem more quickly when he presented with on-going diarrhea. Once he was on the same food as Pooka and I stopped letting him have some Smudge's treats, his problem ended.

  I honestly do not know what to think. I am putting the pumpkin in ice cube trays with lids so I can take some with me.
  
  What food did you end up putting Pooka & Paddy on? I want to do the best thing for him. In the short term, at least until his tummy has healed, the vet agreed that Fussie Cat would be good to feed him.

  Goodness. It can be different water in the new home. Making all kinds of additional changes just mean new opportunities to have loose stools for other reasons. Loose stools associated with a food change are fairly common - and not lasting.
  
  You are suffering from new kitten syndrome. ; ) And, it is being stoked by ideas of things to try. Loose stool is not fun, but the most common fixes are time and some butt baths. The next fix is pumpkin. Focus on the vet's testing finding nothing (so far).
  
  So, let things settle as long as you can stand it. Be aware that the most common approaches for diarrhea in kittens is to fast for two days and slowly reintroduce food. It allows the gut to rest from the upset. (I would not do this while traveling.) Next is to use the med Flagyl. (A failure to culture anything from a stool sample, may point away from trying Flagyl. However, cultures sometimes do not show what is there for some reason.) I would not start a search for a new food free of something you do not know is a problem. If that time comes, then pick the most likely culprit to avoid and then move slowly to the next try. You have to give it time to show it is not working.

  JanH is right about changes in Jaxson's life being a big factor. Also, cats are very good about feeding off our energy. If you are in a frenzy over this, the kitten can feel that and react accordingly. Probably before you try any more diet changes, you should try a bit of "breath in, breath out" therapy.
  To answer your question about what I feed: right now I am using Muse or Beyond (both by Purina). When Smudge was alive, I used a lot of Blue Buffalo Wilderness because he loved their duck recipe and the duck, turkey, venison one. And whatever the "king" said was delicious, his loyal subjects happily ate.

  Thank you both. My last cat got sick and within two days had to be put to sleep. I was devastated beyond words and I think it has made me panic with Jax. I am so scared of losing him too. I am going to keep on with what I am doing, give him time to heal his tummy, and try not to panic over every little thing. Thank you again.
