Good morning! Do ragdolls only shed when they lose their winter coat? I was fully expecting Jaxon to shed terribly all the time but he doesn’t shed at all. I have a black throw that stays on the couch. When he lays on it there is never any loose hair on it when he gets up. -

I found mine didn't shed so much when they were kittens, however as they matured they would shed the most during the change in seasons. -

As kittens, neither Doll Smudge nor Muffin Pooka shed much. That changed, oh boy did that ever change, when the matured. After more than 16 years with Smudge and now over 18 years with Pooka, I swear my next "purrbred" will be a Peterbald or Sphynx.
And remember, "Cat hair is both a condiment and a fashion accessory." -

Thank you. Sounds like in a year or so I will probably be covered in it lol. He likes to sleep against my face so I am already enjoying the condiment side

Fluff barely shed at all as a kitten - and when he did - it was in tiny "drifts" that were easy to pick up.
As Fluff matured the shedding increased significantly. I'm not sure how much is seasonal because he's only two and a bit. His coat (and particularly his mane) have become progressively more impressive as he matures.

My husband said last night he doesn’t look like the same cat. He was so small and bony when he came home lol. I am putting together pictures of the changes. I pick one picture from each week to add to a collage. Each collage covers nine weeks. I will post the first three on the forum once he is 27 weeks.
