That's great news!!! I've heard about this method and I know lots of people use it. If you google:
horse bedding as cat litter
there's loads of information about this. I think if I ever decided to transition FLUFF off his current litter this is the method I would try. So glad to hear that it's working out for you and Jax!!! -

Thank you! I will be honest I expected it to be a disaster lol. I had never considered using anything but clumping litter. I was worried he would catch his nails in the slots in the bottom of the box or that it would just be a big mess. The Breeze litter box works perfect with the pine pellets though. I highly recommend it. -

That's good to know!!! Really the only thing stopping me from trying it is the fear of upsetting HMV (His Master's Voice)

I am so happy to hear that the new litter is working out. Also was excited to learn about the price. One of the shelters that I volunteer at uses a pellet product called Feline Pine. The main difference is that they are paying $18.00 for 40 pounds. Believe me, I will be giving them a call this week to let them know about the horse stuff.

Thank you, I am happy it will help someone! I am so relieved to find something that works well and that Jaxon likes. I thought about trying Feline Pine but I read they changed something with how it is made and it doesn’t work as well. The equine bedding pine pellets had great reviews as litter and the price was fantastic. -

I used that type of litter for a very long time and this was before the lovely boxes that would let the used pellets and pee drop through. Actually that was one of the reasons we stopped using it. We started with Feline Pine and then to the bedding. However we had litters in our bedroom and ouch those pellets hurt on the feet is you have diggers.
We have over the ten years run the gambit of litters. Lucky none of the Hooligans minded litter change as long as I had enough boxes. My older DSH was litter splatter fiend. She had the hooded box to keep the mess in. (she would have loved the litter robot)
Currently I am trying to find cheap but good clumping litter and less high horse about how it's made and how it affects the environment. We also tried different to see if that might be wear Rune's allergies were coming from
We have done the pine pellets
walnut pellets, walnut clumping - the brown dust drove me crazy
I really like Dr Elsy but it is very expensive and if the Hooligans would only use the litter robot I would be okay with that but I still think that is the last resource (or they go more often that I think they should).
Currently we are using Easy Clean and another brand depending on which store we go to. I like the brand whose name I can't remember at the moment . It would well in the robot and and in the boxes. -

Thankfully Jaxon’s litter box is in my craft room. He has actually calmed down on the digging since switching. That surprised me, with the clumping litter he would dig so aggressively he threw tons of litter out. It was a terrible mess. Now he just digs a little and doesn’t throw very many of the pellets out at all. Dear hubby said he seems to be much happier and thinks he was trying to tell us he hated the other type of litter. I hope you find the right fit for you. I never imagined finding the right litter would be so difficult or that it would take so long. -

I've been using this for awhile now, it's economical, low tracking, no perfumey smell that sticks to my cats, clumps well, controls odor and low dust.

I have 2 litter boxes for one cat right now. She pees in one and poops in the other. Different litter in each box. I use Fresh Step Ultra unscented clumping litter and okocat in the other (pine scented clumping).
The breeder I am getting my new ragdoll from uses the pine shavings from Tractor Supply because it is cheaper and she goes through a lot.
Believe me, I have tried almost every litter except the highly scented perfume ones. I do not like a strong smell and I don't think it is good for the cats.
