Hello and welcome to you and your gorgeous Chonk.
All my Ragdolls have been sweet and affectionate as kittens, but even so I did work on them to encourage them to love being petted and picked up.
I have also found that each one has become more needy and affectionate as they've aged.

I also just adopted a ragdoll kitten and she is a LAP Kitty. Loves to be held and picked up and she is just starting to venture more on her own and lay down and sleep in other places besides our lap. LOL She will be 17 weeks old next Tuesday and she is tiny but eats like a little PIG. She is growing fast.
There is also a downside to TOO MUCH of a lap kitty, you can't get anything done. LOL
I would post pictures but I am having trouble with the tutorial on flickr but I will keep trying! -

I know it can seem overwhelming learning a new programme, but I had a look at the tutorial again and did you see STEP 9, the little 'share' arrow? If you click on the arrow it should bring up the BBCode. If you still have problems please let us know and we'll try to see which step you are missing. Flickr is actually very simple once you understand how it works. x
