  The moment you left my heart split in two
  One side filled with memories
  The other died with you
  But you didn’t go alone
  Part of me went with you
  The tears won’t stop falling
  It was way too soon
  The soft warm fur I stroked
  And rumbling  purrs are gone
  Your favorite chair is empty
  And My lap is cold and empty
  If love alone could have saved you
  You never would have gone
  In life I loved you dearly
  In death I love you still
  I will hold you tightly within my heart
  And there you will forever remain
  Goodbye my sweet precious Shadow
  Until We meet again in heaven
  I will miss you more than words can say

  Oh, Helen, I am so very, very sorry for your loss. I know that you and your very kind doctor gave him the best care imaginable.

  Oh Helen! Please accept my deepest condolences. My heart goes out to you as you grieve your precious baby SHADOW. I always thought of him as a gentle giant, he had the sweetest face imaginable, and (to me) was a shining example of the ragdoll breed and temperament. I feel I know him through your posts and my heart goes out to you and your family as you learn to live without darling SHADOW by your side. Thank you for sharing your joy in SHADOW throughout his life and your grief now he's gone. It's a truly beautiful tribute befitting the beautiful boy that was SHADOW.

  Oh Helen, I’ve just seen this now. I don”t have the words to express what I feel. I know Shadow was such a special, beautiful, amazing boy. I feel so heartbroken at the news so I can’t imagine how devastated you are. I only know it’s so difficult.

  Can't believe its 6 months since darling Shadow left us.  Its still so raw bed time is the worst for me hits me hard every night  the tears come as I lay there. I so miss his head and paws on my feet listening to his gentle rumbling purr as I drift to sleep especially on these cold winter nights.

  Helen I cried for 2 years after my dog Eddie died - even though I had Fluffy to distract me...
  
  I ached with grief...
  
  Such are the paw prints our fur-babies leave on our hearts.
