  With most of the world in lockdown, I thought it would be fun to open a thread where we can post some pics to cheer each other up.
  
  I'll start off with a few random ones.
  
  This Common Leopard butterfly landed on the kitchen window the other day.

  A male Southern Masked Weaver, outside my bedroom window.
  
  
  
  
  Green Wood Hoopoe feeding it's chick, they are not the easiest birds to photograph but they are so beautiful. They have a gorgeous iridescent green/blue colour which you can see beautifully in this pic where the sun was shining on the feathers. The adults have red beaks, the baby's beak is still black.

  Oh so beautiful. We have nothing like your birds here in Northeastern USA. Unfortunately, I have nothing cheery to photograph. It has been gray, rainy and cold for days and days. Hopefully, things will change to spring in the next week or so.
  In the meantime, folks, please keep happy pictures coming.

  The purple flowers are indeed a type of Australian Daisy from the Brachyscome genus.
  They come in mauve/purple, pink and white and I adore them!!!

  Such beautiful birds Collen and flowers. I'm waiting for our wax eyes and tui's to come back they vanish over summer.. I so miss them. Today we moved the feeder to the other side of our garden where we have more bird friendly shrubs plus its further away from the house hoping that will encourage them to come back. Now we are heading to winter hopefully won't be long before they are back. Been very stormy here last few days so will have to wait till its passed.

  Gorgeous pictures as always! So glad you started this thread. I have been overwhelmed and struggling the last week and your pictures were a welcome respite from all of it.

  We had torrential rains after the bushfires so I'm loving the garden at the moment. I have a lot of blue plants because they're like a cool drink on a hot summers day. The shrub is Evolvulus Blue Daze but the flower in the top right hand corner is from the Plumbago (Royal Cape) hedge. Both are an intense blue that the camera didn't fully capture.
  
  
  
  
  
  The story of Froggy...there is a very unattractive white plastic access pipe that sits under Froggy. I hated looking at it so I turned a pot upside down over the access pipe and placed Froggy to cover the whole in the bottom of the pot. He looks like he was always meant to be there and when it rains he glistens as if he really were alive. More Plumbago (Royal Cape) in the back ground...

  Our autumns are often very beautiful, certain flowers only bloom now before winter. I love this time of the year.

  Awww...love your sweet, gorgeous lilac boy, he reminds me of my Cody.
  
  Love the flowers too. Yes, the Plumbago is native to South Africa and they plant themselves all over the place but they are so stunning, hardy and fuss-free plants and always look so lovely I really love them too.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  I think I found out what the orange flowers are called, they're: Crocosmia - Falling Stars

  I looked up Crocosmia - Falling Stars and it looks exactly like your plant!!! I do use hardy, drought tolerant plants that are native to South Africa in my garden because they do so very well in our climate here. Just like the Australian daisies (Brachysome) do so well in your climate!!!
