Well it seems the covid delta variant has managed to wing its way over to New Zealand which they have traced back to Sydney Australia .
Whole country has been thrown back in to level 4 lockdown. Going to find it really hard this time at least the last one I could get out and go for a walk with the boys but no longer. Please pray with me that my appointment tomorrow at the hospital isn't cancelled have been waiting 9 months for it to see if I can get a motorised wheel chair so I can get back out and about in the village. Mind you not even allowed to visit neighbours now but at least could drive round see the gardens ect.. Mum is in the same village has her own villa and on her own so trying to get permission for her to be in our bubble. Will miss my visits with my neighbour who would come and spend the afternoon with me when hubby went to play pool but all games afternoons ect are cancelled. Have been stuck in my villa now for 9 months only outings are to hospital appointments rather over it.

Oh Helen!!! It's so awful that the Delta variant has made it's way to NZ. I'm praying that your appointment at the hospital isn't cancelled... I was due to have day surgery recently (which I had waited 5 months for!!!) but it was cancelled on the day when I arrived at the hospital. I was not impressed. I'm sad for you that you are missing out on neighbours visits and hoping Mum is permitted to be in your bubble...

So sorry Pam you missed out on your surgery. That happened to me twice in the level 4 lock down last year so know how frustrating it is. Hope you manage to get it rescheduled soon. At least my boys keep me sane apart from Zimba who took off with my ball of wool which is now wrapped round the cat tower and dinning table. Waiting for hubby to come home from his bike ride to untangle for me. Oh well will read my book instead of crocheting and stroking my boy who is now lying next to me so innocently now.. -

Glad he's lying next to you bringing you comfort...
I've only been out twice in the past 2 months - once to the hospital - and the second time was to get my 1st vaccine from my local pharmacist.
Fluff brings me so much comfort and we've had some really special moments lately - just being fully present in the moment - gazing into his eyes - and appreciating how lucky I am to have this little guy in my life... -

After struggling to get to appt when got there was told couldn't see me as all appts cancelled. Looks will be in Lockdown for a while as two cases down in bottom of North Island now. Unfortunately the date they say came in is 1st August found the source which was school holidays so alot of flying between cities. 30 cases in 2 days. 2 Hospitals been closed for now everyone being tested. Please pray for our little country. -

Praying for you and your beautiful little country. We've been in lock-down for over 8 weeks now and at the beginning our daily numbers were around 30 in my state of NSW. Today we have 644 new cases despite the lock-down. The only good thing to come out of this is that the government has made vaccines more widely available and people are getting the vaccines we need. Stay safe Helen...

Yes Pam mum is in my bubble thank goodness otherwise poor darling would be on her own.. Just got our combined normal weekly shopping delivered to find no bread for either of us not to mention other regular products missing from our order.... Just like last time can't get staple foods cause everyone goes ballistic and panic buys.. Not sure what the point is of having priority delivery for the disabled when staple foods are completely sold out. Decided to order my boys food early as telling us will now take a week to get it instead of over night delivery.. Tried to give the boys a trim today as Zimba had 6 knots needed to get out. Managed to get them out and gave him a belly trim but poor baby looks a bit lopsided. I'm a bit slow and he had enough so let him go and will even him up and do his nails tomorrow. Shadow only had 1 knot so was easier gave him a belly trim too looks pretty good apart from 1 extra long piece under his belly that I missed so will even him up tomorrow. For now Clippers on charge as they went flat. I did them out in the enclosure after throwing food for the birds thinking it would keep them occupied but didn't work. Oh well the idea was good. -

Helen - that's such good news that your Mum is in your bubble!
I'm experiencing the same shopping problems here - I shop for both myself and my mum online (and we both have priority assistance) but it's still hard to get a delivery slot - and hard to get regular staples...
I'm also waiting on a cat food delivery and a cat litter delivery!!! -

So sorry to read this Helen, Covid (and the delta variant) are just awful. I totally understand and can empathise with you as I've basically been in lockdown since Covid started here in March 2020. Vaccinations on our side have been slow to come, only recently has it sped up a bit. Sadly many people are infected in South Africa and there have been so many deaths and I don't think we're as well equipped to assist the amount of cases as we should be. Unfortunately they cannot enforce any severe lockdowns due to the economy being badly weakened by the previous Level 5 and 4 lockdowns it's crippled the country.
I've also been buying cat food online (there seems to be a shortage of certain pet foods at the moment) and many times also bought groceries online too. It's been a tough time for all of us.
