Fluffy and I moved house (and I got Covid) |

After careful deliberation I decided it was time to downsize from a house to a flat. I feel terribly guilty about taking Fluff's enclosure away from him - but he seems to be coping remarkably well. He does need a lot of extra attention and is demanding many cuddles and lots of play-time.
I got Covid immediately following the move and even though I had my 4th vaccine 25 days before I got Covid it still hit me pretty hard. I will write more about our move and hopefully post some pictures soon...

We've had a rather interesting visitor these past couple of weeks; we were surprised to see this chap in our garden. Although, Vervet monkeys are endemic in various parts of South Africa they're not, to my knowledge, widespread in our area.
However, for the last few weeks this chap has been in the area and after about a week decided our garden was a safe spot - with food (which we actually put out for the birds).
I did feel sorry for this poor, little chap, he was obviously very hungry and loved the fruit and peanut butter we give the birds.
At first he would charge off whenever he saw one of us, but after a week or so I think he realised we weren't a threat and would just watch us while he enjoyed his breakfast.
He was all on his own and having to obviously fend for himself, which must have been difficult for him with all the large dogs around the neighbourhood. I also noticed he had an injured front paw, so, I decided to contact our local SPCA who came and set a trap and we managed to capture him last Thursday. The wildlife vet would to give him a thorough checkup and then he would be taken to another province into a wildlife sanctuary. I'm sure he'll be happy to be able to join a troop, and of course, have enough food. Although, I do miss seeing him around the garden. The cats were startled at this strange 'creature' they'd never seen before. It was comical watching their reactions.
