Pooka and Paddy just got back from their Senior Exams. Both are in excellent condition...neither need a dental Pooka is 18 and has never needed her teeth cleaned and Paddy had his done the first week I got him 10 years ago and has never needed another. I truly swear by Oxyfresh used daily in their water. Paddy lost a half pound this year which is good. He is still technically overweight, but the doctor says he is the most solidly muscled cat he has ever seen and as long as he doesn't start gaining again, we are not going to worry. Pooka is down 3/4 of a pound (13 lbs. 11 oz.) but because she eats liked a demented vulture, Dr. Brown is running a T3/T4 thyroid panel to make sure nothing is going on even though her heart rate and respiration are showing no abnormal increases. He says she may be just burning calories running (slip-sliding, gimping) to her food dish 20 times a day. She walks like a little old lady, but is not showing any signs of being in actual pain. She seems to enjoy having her hips and lower back massaged and never winces when she is touched or climbs onto the couch to pee....can't ask for more than that. All in all, a great day.

Just officially checking in...I have been lurking. Since the typhoon I have been housed in an efficiency. Beatiful spot with magnificent views of Lau Lau Bay. No pets allowed!
Come March 1, I will relocate inland to ancient old jungle. 3 bedrooms, 3 baths. Mature avocados and !5 feet red and white ginger, and more orchids than a botanical garden. I took it for the land. it is a fixer upper. I am on the only fresh water well that was not poisoned in the War. Three Tilapia ponds flow through it, so beautiful!
The cool thing was, as I negotiating with the land owners, the dude said, “Miss Mary! I remember your cats! Will you bring them?” I had to explain the whole Typhoon Yutu thing...He said, “I remember your cats!” We got to talking and we will import again this year! I am so excited! Looking at breeders in Singapore, New Zealand, and of course, Australia! Here we go!
