Zimba's yearly health check went well. Posted by: HelenMac - 04-24-2024, 02:56 PM - Forum: Ragdoll Health - Replies (2) Yesterday we took Zimba for his yearly health check and vaccinations to a new vet.  Vet loved on him and asked if she could give him a treat before examining him of course he didn't eat it kept smelling it. So put in the carrier for the trip home. She was pleased with him heart sounds good teeth ect and clipped his nails and gave him his shot. She did say he looks sad and his weight is down though so I told her about Shadow and of course started crying. I told her we are getting a new friend for him.  Her suggestion was to keep using  the felliway and get  a bag of Royal Cannin calm food to give both of them mixed with rest of food and leave out for them to nibble on but to start Zimba on it now as it would help him its for stress ect.. So I bought the big bag after looking at the reviews while he was with the nurses for a bit of a trim and tidy up as his coat had gotten a bit wild yet again. They of course they all loved on him while he had his trim and he just lay there lapping it up.   So he came home looking absolutely gorgeous.   When we got home hubby  put the carrier back on the wheels and we went for a walk round the village to end his outing with a happy memory... When we got back I opened the carrier saw the treat was gone he had eaten it and he jumped out went straight to his bowl ate some food then went to bed.   Zimba is telling me its walk time Posted by: HelenMac - 04-12-2024, 09:01 PM - Forum: Ragdoll Cat Gallery - Replies (1) Zimba is insisting its walk time.  I had the carrier on the table to  make a cover to go on the plastic cushion in the base he couldn't wait to get in. What do you think ? I would think its more grey then dark brown so its a Blue tabby point ? But im very bad with colors according to others Attached Files Thumbnail(s)           One very Happy Zimba Posted by: HelenMac - 03-30-2024, 01:42 PM - Forum: Ragdoll Cat Gallery - Replies (2) I got a new carrier/stroller to make it easier for vet visits which arrived today..  Well my boy had to help put it together he couldn't wait to get in it he was so excited I havn't seen such life in him for a long time.  So of course I had to take him for a walk.  Zimba was so so happy.  When we got back he was hungry and for the first time  ate nearly a whole sachet of food  I was so happy.  Hopefully when I get my new brace and shoes we will be able to go on longer walks but for now I will take him for short ones.   It made my heart sing to see him so happy. Just goes to show they remember.      Fluffy owns my flat... Posted by: MUM_of_FLUFFY - 03-25-2024, 07:10 PM - Forum: Ragdoll Cat Gallery - Replies (1) Fluff has been a bit bored lately - so I completely rearranged all the bedroom furniture to make a new 'racetrack' for him. He perked up straight away!!! I also have a tallboy next to my armchair in the living room - which I have hand-cream, the TV remote and other items I need within handy reach. The top of the tallboy was looking a bit shabby so I used double sided tape to attach a favourite striped tea towel to it. I spent ages getting it straight and getting the tension just right. When I went to place my items back this is what I saw:     Needless to say - I have found other places to put my things and Fluff rules his kingdom from his lofty perch. And the time I spent getting the tea towel straight and smooth was almost completely wasted because he uses it as another cat scratcher. I should have called this post: How to make a home-made cat scratcher... And the tea-towel is blue and white striped so it matches him perfectly... He is still crying and searching but he is sleeping out here with us instead of hiding to sleep or he goes on the bed in the office  where Shadow used to sleep when hubby is in there. He is also spending time out in the enclosure again  which is fantastic and does play when we bring out da mouse toy so definitely been an improvement.   This morning he curled up next to me for cuddles so I wasn't moving for anyone I was in my happy place. He has been coming in at night to give me kisses which I absolutely love.  Praying he will one day surprise me by curling up next to me for cuddles in bed..  I would be over the moon.  Hopefully with the cooling down weather he will want to curl up with me ..  We do have a new girl coming she had kittens and they have just been  weened  so still needs to be fixed but once recovered then we will bring her home so will be sometime in April..  She is the most beautiful blue bi-color with vivid blue eyes and a beautiful temperament.   So looking forward to having her home with us... When I'm about to leave the house, I do routine things that signal to Fluffy I'm on my way out WITHOUT HIM!!! So he staged a protest. That is my small shopping bag hanging on the wall, and that is Fluffy standing between me and the shopping bag. His message could not be clearer. NO! Meowmy! NO! I love him SO MUCH PS: He is standing on his ottoman that he uses to jump onto the sink to drink from his water bowl. After 6 years of slavery to cleaning his water fountain I tossed it in the bin (after I was sure he was drinking sufficient water from other sources). His bowl is porcelain (which he seems to really love) but I only bought it because it was black. Then I bought a second porcelain bowl EXACTLY the same except in white. He completely refused to drink from the white bowl. EVER. He now has a gorgeous tea cup and saucer to drink from in the bedroom (where his water fountain used to reside on the bedside table). He loves it and the saucer catches any drips. He also has a bucket of water sitting in the laundry sink and a firm plastic laundry hamper that he can jump up on to drink from the bucket. I cannot believe I spent the best part of the last 6 years cleaning that water fountain. I read about crystals blocking the male urethra and I wanted Fluffy to drink as much water as possible. I was a new Meowmy and I wanted him to have the best of everything. I will never regret buying his beautiful blue pram (and the hard carrier that fits inside). When we moved it paid for itself because I knew he was completely safe and secure. PS: I have fallen in love all over again with Fluffy   He's 6 years old now, and we have such an incredibly close bond.  He seems to get even more handsome each day and sometimes I just gaze at his face thinking how gorgeous it is.
