They reckon its the worst storm of the century to hit New Zealand and a catagory 3.  As if poor drowning New Zealand needs another storm. Auckland is under state of emergency and this is just the start of the horrific weather for the long weekend.   Other parts of Auckland have already flooded the water is chest high and flooding houses. . Along the waterfront the ocean is breaking over the walls and flooding the roads. My other sister had just got seated at Elton John concert after a two hour trip into town due to the weather and now its been cancelled before it even started and under evacutation orders due to heavy rain and risk of flooding.. Should have been cancelled hours ago now everyone has to try get home again which will take hours. Now the heavy rain has started here we are 1.5 hours South of Auckland. Just had to lock the boys in as enclosure flooding. Paddy has been sleeping for about 4 hours.   What a wonderful way to wake up Posted by: HelenMac - 01-19-2023, 01:52 PM - Forum: Ragdoll Cat Stories - Replies (2) Woke up to find the boys snuggled up to me which is very unusual for summer..  Zimba was asleep on my pillow tucked around my head all I could hear was him purring and Shadow was next to me curled up against my back such a wonderful way to wake up..   When I got up thought wow bit on the chilly side then opened the curtain and looked out and was shocked to see white out.  Yep enveloped in a thick fog and temps have dropped to 14c.    This will be fun got an appointment at 9.00 so have to leave in a hour and its still thick fog.  Can't believe this weather I want my summer.   Zimba braving the weather Posted by: HelenMac - 01-10-2023, 07:52 PM - Forum: Ragdoll Cat Gallery - Replies (2) After the horrific weather cyclone its still raining but the wind has finally died down  so was able to open the door for the boys to go out into the enclosure Zimba was out there like a shot. But don't think he's impressed with the cold though  he has tucked himself up in the cat house.   Still he's out in the fresh air his happy place..   So glad we enclosed one whole side of the enclosure with perspex it means they can be out there when its raining and stay dry.  As for Shadow he went out and came straight back in and is tucked up in his bed in the wardrobe.     Great start to the year Posted by: HelenMac - 01-08-2023, 03:39 PM - Forum: General Chat - Replies (3) Thus far we have had a earthquake  tropical storm days of rumbling thunder now we are in for a cyclone lovely start to the year.   I got up this morning and this is what I see.  My poor meer cats got caught by the wind and tipped out the pot.. Luckily they were pegged down unfortunately one has a broken tail now so have taken them in and have glued his tail back on. Need  to find another place for them.  The Poor boys are not impressed either by this weather they don't like the wind heavy rain or rumbling thunder when out in the enclosure so have not been out much. I must admit I am enjoying the extra cuddles I'm  getting though. First Previous Next Last
